Why Dolores Catania Has Beef With Another Real Housewives of New Jersey Star
Here is the detail of Real Housewives dramas.
Dolores Catania of The Real Housewives of New Jersey and RHONJ alum Caroline Manzo will face off in a culinary battle on the September 13 episode of E!
Joel McHale hosts Celebrity Beef. But, before the Bravolebrities compete for the title of the finest Italian chef, Dolores sheds some light on their ongoing feud.
“It’s the only conflict we’ll ever have—old school vs new school cookery,” Dolores explained to E! Exclusive information about her penchant for lighter cuisine.
“I would never have turned this down,” she added, “since Caroline and I are organically like sisters. The cook-off made me apprehensive because you can’t beat experience, and she prepares a lot more than me for her family, so it was a little nerve-wracking.”
“It was a lot of fun, but she was a lot more competitive than I expected,” Dolores continued. “‘Caroline, it’s just a show! Calm down,’ I say.”
“Caroline is the matriarch of everything, so when you go to her house, you expect to eat. When you go to my house, you expect to eat, but I’m going to order for you because I wasn’t home all day. It’s a generational thing, a little different…But whether you cook every Sunday or whether you cook one Sunday once in a while, you’re going to know what you’re doing when you grew up the way we did.”
Despite Caroline’s nasty spat with Dolores’ bestie and RHONJ co-star Teresa Giudice, the two reality stars have remained friends throughout the years.
“Caroline was always like a big sister to me,” Dolores explained, “and although it’s been difficult that she and Teresa have had a true beef, we have an understanding—neither of us would tell somebody who to be friends with, and they always know I support the friends but not the beef.”
Expect plenty of jokes amongst the Garden State ladies and Joel, in addition to some serious cooking.
“I love Joel,” Dolores said, “he’s so funny. I love his wit. His humor, it’s like this dry humor. He’s hysterical.”
