“You’d think celebs with beauty brands would see the benefits of including LGBTQ+ people in their messaging,” Pope, 32, wrote on Friday, August 26, in reference to Brittany, 33, and her Instagram caption about being a “girly” girl. “Instead, we’re seeing someone comparing their “tomboy period” to someone who wants to transition. Very nice.”

Pope said she had “stopped following” Brittany’s account “a long time ago,” but she “couldn’t help but address” the controversy after seeing a friend repost her status.

Brittany, who married the 45-year-old “Dirt Road Anthem” crooner in 2015, shared a makeup tutorial on Instagram earlier this month in which she compared her former tomboy personality to that of transgender people transitioning.

“I’d like to thank my parents for not altering my gender when I was in a tomboy phase. I adore my feminine life, “On Tuesday, August 23, the blogger captioned her video, showing how she puts together her beautiful appearance.

Jason, for one, responded: “Lmao!! I’m glad they didn’t because you and I wouldn’t have gotten along.”

While the mother of two children — Memphis, 4, and Navy, 3 — and her friends praised her beauty and message, both the former Voice winner and Morris, 32, were less than impressed.

A few hours later, Brittany clarified her divisive statements.

The YouTuber said in an Instagram Story statement on Friday that “advocating for the genital mutilation of children under the pretense of love and calling it ‘gender-affirming care is one of the darkest horrors. “I will always stand by my kids and do everything I can to keep them innocent. Children; Memphis wanted to be a dinosaur the other day, Navy wants to be a kitten tomorrow.”

She went on: “Some parents are so desperate to fit in with a society that they are prepared to make life-changing choices for their kids who are too young to fully understand the repercussions of those choices. Love is keeping your child safe until they are old enough to make their own decisions as adults.”

Then, building on her opening statement, Brittany thanked Debbie and Donald Kerr, her parents, once more for letting her “go through my tomboy era without changing my gender.” “Until then, leave children alone,” she said as her speech came to an end.

The social media influencer continued by sharing a list of age restrictions for voting, buying cigarettes, joining the military, and operating a motor vehicle. She then speculated about the age requirement to “take life-altering hormone blockers” or “irreversible surgery,” referring to gender affirmation surgery that reconstructs patients’ bodies to better match their gender identity, after listing that those require people to be 18, 21, and 16 and 18, respectively.

Brittany’s reaction was later addressed by Pope, who wrote on Instagram: POV: Being aware that you initially managed to irritate a person.

When this happened, Morris said: “We certainly don’t need any more asshole males in the world, so I’m delighted she didn’t turn into a boy either. It stinks when Karens try to cloak their homophobia/transphobia behind the guise of ‘protecting the children.’ Were they not posting pictures of their children wearing ‘[President Joe] Biden-is-a-pedo’ t-shirts on social media? Sounds like a great method to keep kids safe from millions of eyes! … F—k Insurrection Barbie and other IBs that are trolling this comment section with their hypocritical, spiteful asses.”
